Sick of the Majors?
Group M - Independents
for the Upper House VOTE 1
The WA Labor Government has systematically suppressed independent voices byimposing extreme barriers to entry. This election, we were required to obtain 1,250signatures (2.5x the number needed by parties) and pay a staggering $10,000 ($2,000per candidate) just to be allowed a box above the line on the ballot. In contrast, at thelast state election, no signatures were required, and the fee was only $250 percandidate.
Despite these hurdles, we DID IT! Thanks to the tireless efforts of our supporters, ourindependent candidates will be on the upper house ballot for the 2025 WA Electionunder Group M - the only group of independents on the ballot. This an historic eventbeing the one and only group formed under these new restrictive laws.
However, we have been placed on the far-right side of the ballot paper—a deliberate move to make independents less visible to voters. The major parties have rigged thesystem to serve themselves, silencing opposition and limiting voter choice. We will bethe only gorup of independents on the ballot for the 2025 election.
Our group includes three sitting Members of Parliament who have consistently stoodup for Western Australians against unfair and authoritarian policies. They have opposedWA’s restrictive firearm laws, defended WA farmers and the live sheep export industry, fought against radical self-ID gender laws, and stood against the McGowan/Cookgovernment’s extreme vaccine mandates and border closures. Their commitment toprotecting individual rights, supporting local industries, and ensuring fairrepresentation remains unwavering.

This election is your chance to break the major party stronghold and put real voices in Parliament. Vote independent and take back WA.

About
Our Mission
Vote Independent WA is dedicated to facilitating the process of registering independent candidates for the Legislative Council in the upcoming 2025 Western Australian state election.
The current Labor government has introduced a series of amendments to the Electoral Act, deliberately making it more difficult for independents and minor parties to contest elections. These changes have been designed to entrench the power of the major parties, reducing voter choice and limiting true democratic representation.
Thanks to overwhelming public support, our independent candidates have successfully secured their place on the ballot. With a joint ticket and a box above the line, Western Australians will now have a clear and simple way to vote independent in the next election.
Our movement is now shifting focus towards fundraising efforts to assist independent candidates in their campaigns. Unlike the major parties, which receive taxpayer-funded campaign budgets, independents rely on grassroots support to compete on a level playing field.

Our primary goal is to empower voters with accurate and reliable candidate details while simplifying the nomination process. Through our digital platform, we aim to foster a sense of community engagement and participation in the political landscape. Join us in making a difference!
